Key staff

Caroline Burns, Director

Caroline is the Founder and “hands on“ Director of Time Recruitment which opened in 2000.  Caroline works across the business meeting with Clients and Candidates and has successfully introduced office personnel to many of Edinburgh’s top organisations. With an honest, intuitive and hard working  approach Caroline is proud of  Time Recruitment, the staff and what the business has achieved since first opening its doors in 2000.

Caroline has said that although they have needed to face challenges over the years which have included successfully competing against national recruitment firms, with hard work, determination, integrity and humour they  have continued to hold a special place in the hearts of many excellent Clients and Candidates in the city.

Rebranding  at the end of 2016 and inviting testimonials from Clients and Candidates has been the most heart warming experience and with continued loyalty and support from the Edinburgh Business Community we are looking forward to 2017.

Mandy Passmore, Recruitment Resourcer

Mandy is the Recruitment Resourcer and Finance Administrator within Time, joining the company shortly after it opened in 2000, and has been an asset to the company for over 15 years .

Mandy is a perceptive, friendly and committed individual and has a positive approach to all recruitment needs which come to the office.  Mandy is equally as comfortable dealing with clients and candidates and always keen to “go the extra mile” for both, with no job too big or small when a call or email arrives.  Mandy spends a lot of time sourcing and interviewing candidates both temporary and permanent and keeps in touch with all candidates on a regular basis.  When not interviewing Mandy returns to recruitment administration.

Claire Livingstone, Recruitment Administrator

Claire has been the Recruitment Administrator with Time for the last 6 years.  A warm, friendly, committed individual and another asset to Time Recruitment.  Claire is focused on all things relating to compliance and coordinates reference checking, passport and visa documents along with coordinating recruitment data, formatting  CVs and preparing interview confirmation. Claire has shared responsibility with Mandy for  Finance and Social Media activities and both are excited about the opportunities our new website may bring.

Although the office phone can be answered by any one of the Time team  Claire is often the first voice on the phone to deal with initial enquiries.

Josie Crockett, Recruiter

Josie who has been a Recruitment professional in Edinburgh for many years works with Time on a part time basis. Josie liaises with clients regarding their recruitment needs and focuses mainly on Marketing and Business development, along with sourcing potential candidates for specialised positions we have been invited to recruit for.

Josie is a driven people focused individual and a dedicated recruitment professional with many qualities which include loyalty and integrity.

Professional services

We outsource our payroll to a specialist company by the name of The Computer Bureau, who have worked with us since opening in 2000. They are always on the other end of the phone if we have a question which needs professional payroll guidance and they complete our weekly temporary payroll with efficiency every Monday… and mistakes don’t happen, key when dealing with payroll.

Our Accountant has been with us since 2000 and we always enjoy his professional advice and guidance, along with his accountancy skills, on a monthly basis. Our Accountant is also easily available when needed and also a pleasure to deal with, the company name is L&J Lawrie, the company ensures that all accountancy and legislative requirements are fully compliant.

We are fortunate that we always have an excellent pool of specialised temporary or contract staff to call upon if there is a sudden rush of positions to recruit for.  We have recently  benefited in house from the skills of a few of our temporary staff which included their database expertise, marketing and business development skills, and social media skills…we hope you do too in 2017.

Company memberships

Time Recruitment have been active members of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce for many years. Where possible we aim to use the services of fellow Chamber member firms as good business practice.


We get our office water coolers from Aquaid, helping to donate over £6 million to Christian Aid and the African Trust.
