
We will tell you as much as possible about your booking. When we offer the assignment to you please check that we have given you the following details:
PLEASE always let Caroline or Jackie know if something isn't working within the assignment. Many of the problems that can arise when temping can be solved by a phone call from us to the company.
Life can be made easier by asking questions, for example ask to see a sample layout of letters, invoices and reports, ask if you are not sure who has priority in terms of work, ask someone to repeat their name if you are unsure.
These pointers may help you to become more than 'just a temp' and will increase your status and so your enjoyment of the job.
We hope that rates of pay will continue to be competitive, it is after all why we all work. The rate, however, may vary dependant on the company with which the assignment is undertaken and often we are guided by the client on what we can pay.
Several timesheets will be forwarded to you at the beginning of each assignment and on a regular basis thereafter if appropriate. If for some reason they do not arrive, call our administrator at Time Recruitment, telephone 0131 623 9299. Alternatively you can download a timesheet from the website. Enter your details, fax a signed copy, and keep the original for your own records
Please ensure your timesheet is checked and signed by the client at the end of each week and that a copy is with us by Friday evening by 5.00 pm, either via email or fax. Your salary will be paid into your bank account by the following Friday (i.e. the week after you have worked).
Our Administrators are responsible for the first stages of the temporary payroll and we utilise the services of a third party professional payroll firm to complete the full payroll cycle. The payroll and invoicing process is completed every Monday, and of course we will be happy to continue to deal with any assignment enquiries during this time.
Under the Working Time Regulations 1998 (as amended), the Temporary Worker is entitled to annual leave as follows:
If the statutory minimum leave is subsequently decreased or increased then entitlement to leave under this clause will be decreased or increased so as to be set at the statutory minimum as it applies to any period in which work is carried out.
All entitlement to leave must be taken during the course of the leave year in which it accrues and none may be carried forward to the next year.
For the purposes of calculating entitlement to leave under this clause, the leave year commences on the date you start your assignment.
If you are ready to take leave please check what your accrued entitlement is with an Administrator by email or by telephone at 0131 623 9299 and write "paid holiday" on your timesheet when appropriate. We update the holiday spreadsheet on Tuesdays, so this is probably the best day to contact us regarding this subject.
Before arranging any leave please remember to check with the client first that this is convenient for them and then advise Caroline or Jackie that you are taking leave and of the exact dates (email preferred).
